April 11 - Tree Frog
My husband found this frog out back and suggested this be my POD... we had fun taking lots of shots of this cute little frog! You can really see the detail in the eye if viewed LARGE>

March 21st --- Guess who was in the bird feeder today??
A little lizard was actually inside the birdfeeder... which we need to fill up again... but it was funny because we watched him change from bright green to dark brown. He let me get quite close before he dissapeared inside to hide. After the dog park went to a friends wedding... home late, posting late, might be sleeping late and will have to catch up on all the dailies tomorrow night!! to see him completely brown click here::

Went out with Bella looking for my potd with hopes of a water bird or possibly an airplane at a nearby air field... ended up stopping and watching a few Longhorns... Bella absolutley loved them... she was crying for them and really wanted to get out!! So, since I didn't get what I was hoping for and couldn't really get close to the Longhorns.... I decided on Bella, my buddy! ** thanks for all the anniversary wishes and comments yesterday!!**

July 30 ~ Baxter hasn't been a pic of the day for awhile... at least a sweet faced shot...I just love his long whiskers!

May 11 - can i do it?
I began this project in January.... some days I just don't know about being able to finish it though...
So I am taking a night off the computer tonight. Took this after getting home, tired from the gym...made myself into a pencil sketch!!

Flowers from my husband for our wedding anniversary.... Purple Irises are one of my favorites so this had to be my potd... and the evening light hit them just right on the dining table so this is SOOC & RAW.

May 20 - "Houston we have a problem"
Bella, my boxer dog has discovered Mufasa, the new Guinea Pig and is completely obsessed with it. My daughter did introduce them today and the piggy was fine, just kind of sniffed at Bella. I am told that Bella licked the Mufasa and that all was ok. However; ever since I have been home from work all Bella wants to do is stand in front of the cage and bark, it is a happy bark and she keeps looking at me as if to tell me how happy she is and can she please just play with it!?? So that is my potd, Bella's little happy mouth and it won't stop!!
I hope you all have a quiet restful night... I don't think I will... ;-D

March 17th 1st SP ! ackkkkk....may be last....but I thought I best get one out there~ since I see so many of you have. :-)
Spent the evening at mum's place having dinner and doing a final check of her old dial up e-mail one last time before she cuts it off now that she is in the world of high-speed!!
Got home, still no POD. So this was it, kind of as is, after a long day but happy I spent time with my mum. Feathered the edge, a little unsharp mask and sepia.

My First Oil Painting in PSE!!-- posting early for May 1st-- this one is for my mom!
Okay, this is SO MUCH FUN!!! I never would have guessed how much I would like doing this. We learned the steps tonight in class on how to do this effect. I began working on a old church photo in class but that is going to take many hours to master... when I got home I tried this out on a few flowers. It is really not difficult and is actually quite relaxing to sit and paint!

1st PSE class.
Made color image B&W,painted milk & fur in two layers,adjusted hue/sat. This is a 1st try on my own...this is not the one I did in class...that one was an image provided from a book so it wouldn't be appropriate to post.

Sorry I have been a bit awol lately and I did not post yesterday either!! :-( Yesterday I think I was just so tired from a long busy weekend... and now today one of my dear friends husband had a heart attack.... only 44... but he is doing okay and they hope he can come home in a few days. UGH! So today I came home and sat outside by the pool and shot a few pictures of some flowers that were left over from our party here on Saturday... I really like the simplicity of the greens with the pool reflections in the background.

April 9--How much do I love this dog?? Let me count the ways!!

It has been a very LONG DAY and I have zero left tonight... just a quick shot of sweet Bella tonight. I will catch up with all the great dailies tomorrow!!!

Sept 5 - Beach Day
We kayaked... fished, saw horses on the beach...lots of kites and even a fruit stand. I am too tired to make an album of the rest of the pics tonight, but I have a feeling they might be back tomorrow. Best viewed in XL

March 22--- Sweet Strawberry Sunday
Our two pre K little neighbor girls knocked on the door this afternoon with a little gift basket full of strawberries that they picked themselves today at a local farm. They stood there all shy while their Dad told me the girls wanted to give the strawberries to Bella!! (our dog! :-) how SWEET is that??? Since I didn't have a POD today that I really liked...this had to be it.
I am going to try and catch up on all the great pictures posted this weekend now!
AND THANKS for the great response on the little lizard!! I just saw that he made it to number 2 on the popular photos!!! that is pretty sweet too!

May 13 - Tomato Fuzz
Tonight the light was amazing but I was a little lazy and only hand held for a few shots. I liked the way this turned out . Had to use the healing brush however because I still haven't gotten the courage to clean my sensor. I am sure I will get it done by the weekend though and I will show you the before & after (assumming the camera still works when I'm finished!) Also, I heard that I missed a great potd today...my husband said that a giant hawk just sat on our fence for about 15 minutes today... they NEVER do that... we have lived here 10 yrs and haven't come that close.... I wonder did he want to eat the doves or my cat!?
Oh yay! I just saw that I was the first to guess Stephonie's expression yesterday!! I just love those!!

After watering our tomato plant tonight I decided that would have to be my potd. One thing I would love to learn is the water droplet macro technique where you actually get a clear image inside the droplet.... still working on that !!
** I am almost ready to clean my sensor for the first time...I have Pec Pads, Sensor Swabs and Eclipse E2 solution sitting here staring at me... (Canon 20D)... if anyone has any last words of advice I am listening!!**

May 10 - Happy Mother's Day!!
I wish every mother out there a wonderful day!!Tonight I am going to get to have my mum over for dinner, we are making one of her favorite meals...steelhead trout grilled on a plank!! I am thankful everyday for her and am so blessed that I have her love!! I only wish my mother-in-law Julie was still with us. She was an amazing lady who taught me so much and I didn't have near enough time with her!!
My two babies that are home with me forced me to make them my potd while they were having a little love fest this morning!!

May 17th - I CLEANED MY SENSOR AND I AM SOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY I DID!!!
la la la! This is straight out of the camera RAW and NO visible dust (to my eye anyway) ;-D

This photo wasn't taken today... it wasn't even taken in Texas, but it could really be from anywhere. After getting another round of antibiotics today... to try and beat this unrelenting sinus infection... maybe I should take heed and do the same as the photo says.

I only added one layer to this in PSE and now I can't even remember what I did.

Went to visit my Mum tonight, had my camera and still didn't have a POTD, then I spied her watercolor brushes just begging to have their picture taken... of course I took quite a few shots... but the last one was the keeper... and guess who composed it (not me)?! The artist herself!! Thanks Mum!

Nun Run 2008 : Ride began at the Villa De Matel in Houston...due to Hurricane Ike the ride that usually ends in Galveston for lunch had to be shortened to end up in League City.
As always the nuns were fabulous and had a great time raising money for Christmas gifts for their childrens charity.
